Rowing and your back

IMG_1032It is high summer and there is nothing sweeter than a pull in my single scull on a mountain lake. I am working on a new Back Book with Dr. Jeremy James and am newly sensitive to the subject. In a scull almost all the power comes from the legs. Same in SO many sports…tennis, golf and so on. But the great trick is to have a neutral spine…not be curled over. So you don’t hurt your back AND because it gives you more power gotta think about it al the time. Gotta think about it all the time in LIFE to tell the truth.

This boat, by the way, is 26 feet long and one foot wide. Rowing is an endless exercise in balance (with the oars) SO great for your balance generally and major fun.
