So many people quit skiing at fifty that it is a surprise to look around and see how many do not. Here in Aspen, I have started noticing the really remarkable number of men and women – mostly men – over fifty…over sixty…over seventy. Maybe it’s moe common in Aspen than other places, dunno. But it’s very common out here. I was standing beside this rawboned old gent at the top of the mountain today – he must have been deep in his 70’s – and followed him when he pushed off. And it was quite the little ride…hard to keep up. That shouldn’t surprise me but it did. He was a hot old boy. Younger this year and hard at it. Nice.
