Got a good comment the other day, chiding me for not being willing to row in the cold. ACtually, rowing in the cold is not so great, but biking is.
It was forty and clear, yesterday, here in the Berkshires…bundled up and headed out the door (long, warm bike pants…three layers up top. Including light, wicking stuff next to the skin…a heavy Arcteryx warm up jacket and an Arcteryx wind breaker. Watch cap under helmet…light gloves. Warm as toast.
The pay off: one of the nicest bike rides of the year, in amazing foliage. The mantra: there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing choices.
As I went out the door, a visiting pal thought I was crazy. No. The crazy thing is to miss days like this.
