Gave a talk to a health club crowd last night and then did a BTS class called “Group Active”, with a “class” that was made up entirely of gym owners and trainers. The speaker told them that 90% of health club members want to do group stuff but only some 20% do it because the rest are afraid they won’t be up to it or that they’ll look like dopes.
That’s nuts. Who cares if you look like a dope? And you can do most classes at your own level, if you are more or less able-bodied. Anyone who is reading these pages is surely up to it. And could persuade some others. Those who DO do group are much more likely to be consistent and to go for it.
So give it a shot.
