I am off, with grandchildren etc, to ski in Alta for a week. Good for me. And, as always, I am a little behind in the special exercises for skiing. So…I do the best I can. The past ten days (amid a lot of working trips and talks and stuff) I have cranked up my aerobics to an hour and a quarter on the aerobic days. But mostly I have cranked up the weights for the legs. Lots and lots of leg presses for my quads. Lots of knee extensions for whatever the hell that does. And any other leg machine in the gym. Feel okay. My daughter and son in law – very serious skiers in their mid-forties – may have to wait but they won’t have to call the cops. I hope. Any get-in-shape advice from some more serious skiers? Of whatever age? Speak up.
