I am not a maniac football fan and was anxious to get home from a long road trip. Still, when I got an invitation from Mike McCaskey – a fan of the book – to join him in the owner’s box for a Chicago Bears game, I thought: default to yes.
And thank heaven. It was such a kick in the pants. Mike is a lovely guy, the new Bears stadium is stunning and the owner’s box is a level of luxe I don’t see often. And…wandering around on the field, before the game with the players? Yikes. For an old non-athlete like me, quite a treat.
But the real pay off was a long session the next day with a half dozen of his close pals, discussing how to DO this stuff for life and all the rest. I’ll report in another blog.
